The aim of the Cool it! project was to give young people in Scotland the opportunity to voice their ideas about climate change and the challenges that face them as 21st century global citizens.
How do we engage young people on the challenging subjects of climate change and poverty? That's the question that Christian Aid and Stop Climate Chaos Scotland had been puzzling over for some time before we put the Cool It! project together.

The problems of poverty and climate change ultimately impact on all our lives, yet can seem at best distant and intangible, and at worst, terrifying and irresolvable.
Climate change, in particular, is a problem that looms large over us all. It is already threatening vulnerable communities across the globe.
But the twin challenges of climate change and poverty can be overcome if people engage with them and make changes that will ensure a sustainable future.
So we decided it was time to give young people the means to communicate their own ideas about climate change and positive citizenship.
We enlisted the help of Hand Up Media, an ethical PR company specialising in digital arts. Hand Up came up with a way for young people to take an animated stand against climate change and poverty.
The Cool It! project was the result of this collaboration, and of our shared desire to provide a platform for young people to articulate their understanding of the challenges that face them as 21st century global citizens.
