Just off a muddy thoroughfare at the Greenbelt Festival; Christian Aid transported festival goers to a climate a bit dryer and warmer than Cheltenham in August.
Our venue was transformed into a global garden, modelled on an agricultural project in Ghana, it demonstrated some of the ways that our partners in developing countries cope with a changing climate.
Highlighting how climate change impacts the poorest, hardest, Christian Aid challenged visitors to join our campaign movement that will demand a fair deal for developing countries in climate talks due to take place next year.
And with thousands of people adding their name, Greenbelters got our campaign off to a flying start!

That wasn’t the only way that people joined in with Christian Aid at Greenbelt this year.
From our Mad Hatter’s tea party and our Girls Night Out to morning worship and gospel song singing – hundreds of people joined us to inspire and enthuse each other to continue the fight against poverty.
We heard from three recently returned Platform2 volunteers who shared with us how their first hand experiences of development issues have impacted them. They were joined by Douglas Alexander, secretary of state for international development, who commended the young volunteers for taking time to learn about making a positive difference in the world.
